A Day in the Life of Kurtis Stryker

Kurtis Stryker.  Officer.  SWAT.  Savior.  Enforcer.  But most of all….hero.  Stryker works hard to keep his town in order but don't you ever wonder what goes down?  What was he doing before the Earthrealm invasion?  What was he doing before Sindel punched a hole in his face?  Being a badass?  Probably, since he is the most badass character of Mortal Kombat.  Let me enlighten you on a day in the life of THE Kurtis Stryker.

A "normal" day at the police station.  Stryker was working at his desk, going over police while his partner Kabal was at his desk, chilling with his feet up.  "Kabal what's going on today?" "Nothing Stryker.  You need to mellow out for once."  Stryker picked up Kabal by the arm and took him to the window and pointed outside.  "Look out there.  This is a town full of criminals, murderers, drug dealers, prostitutes, all of the above.  And they are all hidden, waiting to make their move."  "And when they do we'll take them down Stryker like we do every time but for now just relax."  

Stryker and Kabal were the top cop team.  Stryker had the brawn while Kabal had the brains, the ultimate combination.  Whenever there was a major crime or criminals around like the Black Dragon they were called specifically to deal with them.  "Fine Kabal I'll "relax" for now but if something comes up, we're on it.  I just know something is going on but we just don't know it."  "Well let's just stay here and chill out before it comes up, whatever it is.  How's your wif---?"  But then a call came in and Stryker rushed to the phone, sliding over his desk.  "Hello? Chief?  Yes what happened?  No way are you serious?!"  Stryker slammed the phone down with anger and stared at Kabal.  "What is it Stryker?  What did he say?!"  "It's Kano…..he got Sonya."  "Dammit!  Of all people Him? AND he has Sonya?!"  "C'mon Kabal time to dish out some POLICE BRUTALITY!!!"

Stryker and Kabal dashed to their patrol car.  The chief gave them the nicest one.  A Dodge Charger with a hemi.  Wow did that baby roar.  Anyway, they both got in the car and took off.  "Where did the chief say they were?"  "Around the dock area.  Knowing Kano he is probably hiding out in like a freakin shipping container or something like the coward he is.  I hope Sonya is okay."  Stryker put his pedal to the metal and dashed around cars on the street, rushing to Sonya's rescue.

They finally arrived at the dock's and both hopped out of the car and Kabal slid across the hood.  "Kabal I told you not to do that."  "Oh c'mon you do it across your desk all the time!"  Stryker just smiled and said "Let's split up and cover more ground.  I'll hit the shipping containers and you check out the warehouses." Kabal nodded and Stryker ran off.

Stryker listened closely to hear any signs of life inside the containers.  He walked cautiously making sure not to give away his position.  He was dead quiet when he suddenly heard Kabal scream "STRYKEEEER!!!"  Stryker ran towards the voice and used his binoculars to see that Kabal was in combat with Kano inside a warehouse.  He ran to his rescue.

"Well if it isn't Kabal?  You left the Black Dragon for this?  To be a cop?!"  "Remember my Black Dragon skills Kano?  I use them for good now.  I'm done with scum like you."  Kabal threw a punch at Kano, knocking him down but Kano quickly recovered and tackled him.  "You know what Kano does?  HE CHOKES A BITCH!!!"  Kano laughed evilly as she clenched Kabal's neck and started to choke him hard.  He choked him so hard that he knocked him unconscious but then he heard footsteps and turned to see who it was.

It was Stryker.  "I studied all your moves mate.  I'm afraid you can't win this fight."  Kano pushed back a curtain to reveal Sonya, tied up and bleeding from knife wounds and crying for help as Kano laughed manically.  Stryker took out his gun, shot twice in the air and twirled it and put it back in it's holster.  "POLICE BRUTALITY COMING UP!!"  Stryker drew his baton and charged at Kano and tackled him to the floor.  He beat on Kano with the baton but Kano retaliated with his eyes lazer, knocking Stryker off.  "Quite the skills you got there cop but not enough to beat me!"  Kano quickly threw a knife at Stryker but Stryker drew his gun and shot it out of the air, leaving Kano stunned.

"I'm not top cop for nothing!  I was trained to take down scum bags like you Kano!!"  "Cop, ninja, sorcerer, it doesn't matter!  No one beats Kano!"  The two rushed at each other and exchanged punches and kicks, giving it their all.  Kano drew his knife and started to stab at Stryker who blocked it with his baton and countered, knocking him into the air.  Stryker drew his gun and shot Kano in mid air, causing him to cough up blood.  "Nice moves mate.  You got me…..BUT I STILL GOT SOME FIGHT LEFT IN ME!!!"  Kano cannonballed at Stryker but Stryker pulled out his flashlight, blinding him.  He then smashed it on Kano's head, breaking his skull.  Kano was dropped to his knees as Stryker drew his baton and smashed Kano on the side of his face, dislocating his jaw.  "POLICE BRUTALITY!"  Stryker took out his tazer and tazed Kano so much that his skin began to burn.  Stryker pulled away and waited for Kano's next attack.

Kano struggled to get up on his two feet, groggier than ever.  Stryker shouted loudly and rushed at him and punched him hard, crashing him through the warehouse window and into the outside.  "Goodbye Kano.  One less Black Dragon scum to worry about."  Stryker rushed over to Sonya and untied her and tended her wounds.  "Stryker….you saved me."  "Just doing my job Sonya."  "Wait what happened to Kano?!"  "I punched him out the window, getting rid of him once and for all."  Sonya sighed with relief and walked to the window and looked outside but there was no one there.  No body.  No anything.  "Stryker there's no one there."  He rushed to the window and looked out.  "But I just did it!  I destroyed him!"  "Kano always has a way to cheat death.  He'll be back sadly."  Stryker sighed in disappointment and lifted up the unconscious Kabal with Sonya and headed back to the police car.  And that was a regular day in the life of Kurtis Stryker. Cop.  Officer.  SWAT.  Savior.  Enforcer.  And….hero.
